Melanie Messenger is an Outpatient Counselor at Rimrock Trails, where she brings over four years of clinical social work experience providing trauma-informed, client-centered therapy to children, adolescents, and adults across both in-person and telehealth settings, with a focus on supporting individuals navigating trauma and complex life experiences. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Portland State University and is currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

Throughout her career, Melanie has contributed to trauma-informed care across multiple systems, including several years volunteering with District Attorney’s Offices in Marion and Deschutes County in victim assistance, where she supported survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children involved in the foster care system. This work reflects her commitment to advocacy, client-centered care, and creating safe, supportive environments for healing.

In her free time, Melanie enjoys photography, particularly capturing human connection and the beauty found in everyday moments. She also enjoys painting, traveling, spending time with her kids, and playing classical and blues piano.
